Get involved in Tenant Engagement Month!
Today we have launched Tenant Engagement Month, with the aim of connecting with as many of our tenants and residents as possible. During May, we are hosting a number of events in our communities in Northern Ireland.
Tenant meetings
Tenant meetings are held locally and are a great way for our tenant engagement officers to get out and about in communities and be accessible to tenants.
- Blenheim Drive, Newtownards – Wednesday 1 May
- Newtown Green, Comber – Wednesday 1 May
- Cloverfield Street, Belfast – Wednesday 8 May
- Burren Meadow, Newcastle – Friday 10 May
- Old Forge, Dunmurry – Tuesday 21 May
- Tamlough Park, Ballycastle – Friday 31 May
Come along, have a coffee, chat with neighbours and share your views about where you live and contribute to building stronger communities. If you’ve been considering becoming more involved, these meetings are a great informal introduction to tenant engagement.
Environmental events
In response to tenant feedback, we have organised several hanging basket / planter workshops. Many of our tenants have a passion for gardening and these events are a great way to socially connect. Onsite workshops will be happening in the following areas:
- Beechwood Drive, Newtownabbey – Friday 3 May
- Clondermott Park, Derry~Londonderry – Friday 3 May
- Cloverfield Street, Belfast – Wednesday 1 May
- The Arches, Bessbrook – Tuesday 14 May
- Tamlough Park, Ballycastle – Friday 31 May
Tenant training
Empowering our tenants is an important part of tenant engagement. The following training sessions have been organised:
- Dogs Trust visit to Newtownards – Wednesday 1 May
- Card Making Workshop, IOSAS centre – Thursday 2 May (fully booked)
- Menopause Matters workshop on Zoom – Wednesday 15 May
- Vegan Cook Along at Apex Living Centre – Friday 10 May (fully booked)
- Dogs Trust visit to Coolcullen Meadow, Enniskillen – Monday 22 May
If you have difficulty using Zoom, please contact Donna Richmond or Mieke Hegarty on 028 7130 4800 for assistance.
Health Fairs
Tenants have told us they would like to take part in more events that promote health and wellbeing. During May, a number of health fairs will take place, organised by Apex’s ‘Housing for All’ team through the shared housing programme.
One of our tenant engagement officers will be in touch with local tenants to organise attendance.
Dungannon Health Fair – Thursday 2 May
East Belfast Health Fair – Thursday 9 May
Ballycastle Health Fair – Thursday 16 May
Derry~Londonderry Health Fair – Wednesday 29 May
Tenant celebration event
Our tenant celebration event will take place in Belfast on Friday 24 May, and transport can be provided.
This event is a way for Apex to recognise the contribution of our tenants throughout the year and highlight some of the fantastic work we have done together in shaping our communities.
Tenant Network
Our network of connected tenants will meet on Tuesday 8 May in Apex head office (Butcher Street, Derry~Londonderry) with the option to join via Zoom.
The Tenant Network provides the opportunity to provide positive or negative feedback on Apex services and to receive updates on upcoming projects, events, funding and competitions.
Tenant Panel
Tenant Panel members will join Apex Directors at the Apex Housing Sub-committee meeting on Thursday 23 May. This meeting will scrutinise performance during the last quarter and discuss plans for the coming quarter.
