Community Integration
Communities are strongest when people feel connected and included in the places where they live.

That’s why Apex is proud to be a partner in Common Ground – a project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), bringing together housing organisations across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland to promote community integration, inclusion and positive relationships.
Led by the Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations (NIFHA), Common Ground recognises the important role housing providers play in creating welcoming neighbourhoods where everyone feels they belong.
What is Common Ground?
Common Ground aims to strengthen relationships between people from different backgrounds by creating opportunities for meaningful community participation and engagement.
The programme supports communities by:
- Encouraging people to get involved in local activities.
- Building positive relationships across communities.
- Promoting inclusion and understanding.
- Creating welcoming neighbourhoods where everyone feels valued and respected.
Common Ground is delivered in partnership by the Northern Ireland Federation of Housing Associations (Lead Partner), the Irish Council for Social Housing, Apex Housing Association, Choice Housing, Clanmil Housing, Radius Housing, Rural Housing Association and Woven Housing Association.
It is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
By working together, Common Ground is helping to create stronger, more connected communities where people can learn from one another and build lasting relationships.
Community Support Directory
A list of organisations that provide free services relevant to migrant, newcomer and minority ethnic communities in Northern Ireland and the border region of Ireland has been compiled by the NIFHA Common Ground Project Team.
