Report anti-social behaviour

Anti-social behaviour can cover a wide range of behaviour, from low level noise nuisance to serious harassment.

Some examples of anti-social behaviour include:

• Hate behaviour towards individuals or groups of people because they are perceived to be different
• Violence or threat of violence
• Noise nuisance (for example, rowdy parties, playing music, TV or radio too loudly)
• Vandalism & graffiti

There are many other types of anti-social behaviour not included in this list.

Reporting anti-social behaviour

When reporting an incident of anti-social behaviour, our staff will ask you to provide where possible, specific details of the incident, and this will include details of the date, time, what actually happened, who was involved and whether there were any other people affected by it.

It may also be necessary for you to report the anti-social behaviour to another agency such as the PSNI or Local Council.

How do you report anti-social behaviour?

All reports can be made:

• in person any Apex office or to a staff member in your area
• to your Housing Officer by telephone – 028 7130 4800

What will Apex do with my report?

We will:

• Record your report of anti-social behaviour
• Carry out investigations
• Interviewing all people involved
• Where appropriate consult other agencies
• Keep you informed

Apex will seek to resolve the situation with all parties involved. Depending on the seriousness of the anti-social behaviour one or more of the following actions may be taken:

• Issue warning letter
• Monitor the situation
• Offer mediation
• Seek Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABC’s)
• Instigate legal action
