Disabled adaptations
Apex is able to provide aids and adaptations for people with sensory impairments or disabilities living in its accommodation. This service can offer tenants a measure of independence and have a positive effect on their well-being.
A wide range of aids and adaptations are available including:
- grab/hand rails
- stair rails
- toilet frames/shower seats
- door entry systems/intercom
- level access showers
- external ramps and steps
- stair lifts and through-floor lifts
- ground floor bedroom/en-suite bathroom extensions
How to apply for an adaptation
You should contact your GP and explain the difficulties you are experiencing. Your GP can refer you to an Occupational Therapist at your local Health Trust who can assess your circumstances and recommend to Apex aids or adaptations you may require.
