Name: Sarah Becraft
Job role: Administration Assistant (Development and Assets)
Describe what your job involves:
I troubleshoot over phone calls and take detailed reports of responsive repairs works to log with various contractors, follow up on works and make sure they are completed.
What do you like most about your job?
I like helping people and have an interest in housing, so my role is a good blend of both. I learn a lot about housing that I wouldn’t otherwise.
Describe Apex in three words.
Equitable, flexible, fun.
What advice would you give someone starting out in your career area?
I’d recommend developing familiarity with the tenants’ handbook, writing down codes and key words of jobs you find frequently, and create a good organisational system.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to study languages, do volunteer work, read and write. I also like going outdoors and enjoy dog sports.
What did you want to be when growing up?
I wanted to be a cetologist (a scientist who studies whales, dolphins and porpoises).
What is the first concert you attended?
One of my uncles played in a band called Andrea’s Fault so that would have been my first concert. Otherwise, I first went to an Eagles concert.
What is your favourite book?
My favourite books growing up were those in the Animorphs series. A science fiction series, they told the story of kids who had stumbled into an intergalactic war being fought by two alien species. They were given a technology where they could become any animal they could touch in order to help fight.
Favourite motto or personal mantra?
It’s never too late to accomplish your goals.
