Carrie McGinley, Assets Officer
Carrie McGinley has worked at Apex for seven years and is currently an Assets Officer in our Derry~Londonderry office. We sat down with Carrie to chat about her role, what Apex is like as an employer and how she spends her free time outside of work.

Describe what your job involves.
I visit Apex homes to determine what repairs we can do and prepare empty properties for new tenants. I also liaise with contractors to ensure repairs are carried out and paid for.
What do you like most about your job?
The ability to help someone. I enjoy being able to help resolve someone’s issue.

What advice would you give someone starting out in your career area?
Don’t let the jargon and information overwhelm you! You do most of your learning in the role.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Anything that involves my kids and husband, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy redecorating.
What did you want to be when growing up?
A shoe designer.
What is the first concert you attended?
Westlife in Sligo.
What is your favourite book?
Pride and Prejudice.
