A Ballynafoy CinderellaTreading the boards at Ballynafoy Close

Young people from Ballynafoy Close performed a pantomime to a packed hall last week.

The idea to produce a community pantomime came from the young people who attended the summer scheme run by East Belfast Alternatives. The young people took part in some drama workshops during this week and wanted to continue developing these skills.

The young people worked with East Belfast Alternatives to put on “A Ballynafoy Cinderella”. Their weeks of rehearsal and hard work really paid off as they produced a great show! There were laughs, dance numbers, special lighting effects and all the usual fun you would expect from a panto, including the traditional shouts of “It’s behind you!” and “Oh no it’s not!”

The audience was made up of family and friends and they thoroughly enjoyed the evening and gave lots of encouragement to the young performers.
Well done from us to all the performers and a big thank you to the Directors and all the volunteers who helped put the show together.

We can’t wait for next year!
