Talk Money Week 2023 – Get a benefits check

It’s Talk Money Week and each day we’ve been featuring ‘one thing’ you can do to boost your financial wellbeing. To finish off the week, why not get a free benefits check to make sure you are maximising your income?
Every year, people in the UK miss out on billions of pounds worth of benefits and tax credits.
Maximise your income
Benefits are usually available if:
- You’re out of work
- You’ve got children
- You have a low income
- You’re ill or disabled
Even if you work, you may still be entitled to help. It’s always worth checking to make sure you are getting all that you’re entitled to. You can do this by using an online benefits calculator or contacting Apex’s qualified Welfare Advice Officers for advice on benefits checks, applications, appeals and general queries.
‘Do one thing’ and reach out
“I was really struggling to manage financially due to the rising costs of living and didn’t know where to turn. My housing officer referred me to Apex’s Welfare Advice Service. The friendly adviser took time to meet with me and identified an element of my benefit I could claim that I wasn’t aware of. I am now better off and much less anxious about my financial situation. I’m so glad I did that one thing and reached out!”
