Killowen House celebrates 20 years

Apex’s housing with care scheme, Killowen House in Coleraine, celebrated its 20th anniversary in December and the high regard within which it is held by the local community,
Apex attributes this to its staff who work around the clock to provide tenants with the highest levels of support and care.
Manager, Brenda Cunningham said the health and happiness of the 43 tenants living there are her number one priority, with this being reflected in a recent inspection.
On a recent unannounced inspection carried out by Regulation and Quality Improvement Agency (RQIA), the inspector noted how Killowen House delivered a level of care that was “safe” and “effective” and most importantly “compassionate”.
“Happiness is the secret to a long life”
Isobel Foster is Killowen House’s oldest tenant aged 103. She moved in 12 years ago and has no regrets regarding her move.
When I applied to go into private care I had a number to choose from but the decision was an easy one for me to make – it had to be Killowen House!
“During my time here I have always been very well looked after – I have no complaints, none whatsoever. The care you receive at Killowen House is great and that is all due to the staff and management
