Important information if you claim Tax Credit

If you currently receive Working Tax Credits and/or Child Tax Credits and no other benefit, you will soon receive a letter from the Department for Communities regarding your ‘Move to UC’ (Universal Credit).
Beginning today (Monday 16 October), ‘Migration Notice’ letters will gradually be issued and will explain what you need to do and include signposting to help if needed.
Once you receive your letter, you will have 3 months to make a claim to Universal Credit.
IMPORTANT – You should only apply for Universal Credit after you have received a Migration Notice letter. This is very important as your benefit entitlement is only protected if a UC claim is made following receipt of a Migration Notice.
Find out more about the Move to UC on the nidirect website.
