Get involved in Tenant Participation Month!

September is Tenant Participation Month at Apex and throughout the month we’ll be hosting a variety of events across Northern Ireland with lots of opportunities for tenants to get involved.
Cook alongs and mystery shopper day
There will be a ‘Cook along’ and a ‘Bake along’ via Zoom, led by our resident chef Charlie Dillon. Our mystery shopper information day is on Thursday 9 September – giving tenants more detail on how being a mystery shopper can help us improve our services for everyone.
Cornshell Fields
Cornshell Fields in Derry~Londonderry will be a hive of activity as we promote the local Community Group which has been recently established. Apex staff will call door-to-door with information and there will also be a ‘meet and greet’ session in the community hub followed by a Community Group meeting.
First aid training
The impact of good first aid training is important for any local community and so Newtown Green in Comber and the Tigers Bay area of Belfast will receive first aid training from the Red Cross alongside their community residents meetings in September.
Have your say
We’ll also be conducting a community audit in Canalside in Strabane so tenants can give us their views on their local neighbourhood and tell us what opportunities or activities might interest them in the future.
Our Tenants Editorial Group will meet virtually to give us their feedback on the last edition of our tenants’ newsletter – The Apex Observer – and suggest improvements to make it more accessible, attractive and interesting for all tenants.
At the end of September we will welcome our very first ‘Tenant Panel’. Tenants who join the panel will engage directly with Apex directors, speaking on behalf of tenants and will discuss all aspects of living in Apex homes.
Macmillan coffee mornings
We will also help to host Macmillian coffee mornings in partnership with our tenants’ residents groups to boost community spirit whilst raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.
