Active tenants taking part in discussionFirst Active Tenant Network Event

Following the great response to our Menu of Options for Tenant Participation which was sent to all tenants in January we have now held our first Active Tenant Network event.
On 13th April tenants from all across Northern Ireland came together at Apex’s Head Office in Derry / Londonderry for the event which provided the opportunity for Active Tenants to come together, receive training and share ideas and best practice with other like-minded tenants and housing staff.
The event started with a Focus Group to review leaflets that Apex issues to new tenants, to ensure the information is presented clearly and concisely.
Apex’s Financial Inclusion Officer, Michael Lyttle, delivered training on the services he offers which the Active Tenants can now inform their communities of.
After having lunch together the group engaged in a lively discussion on future plans for their communities while sharing success stories. Apex’s Community Involvement Co-ordinator, Rachael Power, had created an Active Tenant Toolkit which was given to all those present to assist them in enabling their own communities.
Apex intends to run Active Tenant Network events on a regular basis to update those present on the progress that has been made, support them in the work they are doing in their communities and to show its appreciation of their efforts. Such partnership working will help to ensure Apex communities are vibrant and caring places to live in.
Apex is very keen to see more tenants attend future events to ensure representation from all its housing schemes. If you would like more information on how to become involved please contact Rachael Power on 02871 304800.
