Celebrating our tenants and residents

by

Our annual Tenant Celebration Event took place last week at The Waterfoot Hotel, Derry~Londonderry, bringing together tenants, residents and staff for a fantastic day of recognition, engagement and community spirit.

The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the many successes achieved in tenant engagement over the past year, while also launching our new Tenant & Resident Engagement Strategy 2026–2029.

Speaking at the event, Sean Gallagher, Apex Housing Manager, said:

This new strategy is more than a document. It is a pledge – a pledge to ensure that engagement drives improvement, equality and excellence in everything we do. Together, we will build stronger connections, deliver better services and create communities that flourish.

Attendees also had the opportunity to meet with colleagues from our Welfare Advice Team and Right Support Right Time service, who were on hand to offer advice and support on financial wellbeing, mental health and other important issues.

We were delighted to welcome representatives from Arthritis UK, who hosted an information stall, as well as the Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum, who provided free health checks for everyone throughout the day.

A highlight of the celebration was our annual Unsung Hero Awards, which recognised tenants and residents who go above and beyond to make a positive difference in their communities. Nominated by their neighbours, the winners were presented with certificates and gift vouchers by Connected Tenant, Shelly McAleer, and entertainer Micky Doherty.
