Young people from Ballynafoy Close enjoying the bouncy castleBallynafoy Residents Celebrate their Shared Neighbourhood

Apex’s first TBUC: Together Building United Communities development at Ballynafoy Close, Ravenhill Road, Belfast was officially opened on the 10 March 2016.
After the official ceremony the community hall was transformed to allow for a community celebration. Gone were the seats and the lectern for the speeches and instead replaced with among other things a bouncy castle, face painting, nail painting, a graffiti wall and hot food.
A large number of residents and families attended the event and while parents relaxed and chatted over a cup of tea or coffee some of the younger attendees were much more energetic stopping only to get a cool drink before launching themselves again onto the bouncy castle. Milling around were various animal faces and fairy tale character faces along with highly colourful nails. Some of the children also took the opportunity to avail of the graffiti wall, Also in attendance were Belfast City Council offering advice on recycling to the parents in the room along with an electricity company with financial incentives for households to switch.
At the end of the evening tired but happy families left the event with the children looking forward to Easter, carrying their Easter egg from Apex.
