A ‘Match for Mental Health’ featuring Manchester United Legends was held in North Belfast at the weekend. The event, organised by mental health charity TAMHI, was supported by Apex Housing Association (Apex) through its ‘Housing for All’ good relations plan for the Belfast area.
The showcase match saw Manchester United Legends, including Jaap Stam and Wes Brown, playing against a Cliftonville and Crusaders select. Another team made up of TAMHI volunteers and Northern Ireland’s top comedians also played the Manchester United Legends, in a team kit sponsored by Apex.
Sharon Hunt, Senior Communities Officer at Apex, commented:
We were thrilled to support the Match for Mental Health in North Belfast, which has raised funds for TAMHI’s vital work in the area. Through our ‘Housing for All’ good relations plan for the Belfast area, we sponsored the TAMHI team’s kits and they certainly did us proud playing against the mighty Manchester United Legends! It was great to see people from all backgrounds coming together to support and participate in this fantastic event.
‘Housing for All’
Sponsorship of TAMHI’s football kits was supported by the Department for Communities and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s ‘Housing for All’ Shared Housing Programme. The Programme has its origins in the NI Executive Together: Building a United Community Strategy which reflects the Executive’s commitment to improving community relations and continuing the journey towards a more united and shared society.
Apex’s Ballynafoy Close shared housing development in Belfast is supported by the Department for Communities and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. £11m was invested in the scheme’s development and associated good relations plan.
