New houses at Magowan Park, DerryApex shares excitement of handover day at Magowan Park, Derry

As part of its continuing plan to provide homes in this high demand area, Apex is introducing an exciting new development located at the former St Peters School site in Creggan, Derry. The development comprises of 127 new build properties.
There are few milestones more exciting in life than getting the keys to your new home – especially when it is a ‘new’ home.
So in the mix of the bustle and excitement of ‘handover day’ last month, we were there to capture the buzz, sharing the elation of our keyholders as they discovered the finer points and hidden features of our townhouses and apartments.
Magowan Park raises the bar in every respect.
But we’d rather let our tenants tell you what they think…
Stephanie Graham and Adam, 3, are settling into their new two bedroom house.
I’m only just getting used to calling this home. We had been in shared accommodation before this – it’s great to have our own space. Adam loves it. He has come on so much here. I’m really impressed with the size of the bedrooms and kitchen. We’re decorating it bit by bit.”
Carleen Deery, mum to one year old Isaac, collect keys to her new home.
I can’t believe how big it is. The kitchen is gorgeous – love the brown and cream units. And the fact that it’s brand new makes it even more special, I can’t wait to decorate it.”
Susan Hawkins, Moved into her ground-floor apartment.
“Apex definitely deserves a lot of credit.”
I feel like I’ve won the lottery. I love my home so much I don’t even want to go out! There’s so much space for two people, we’ve an enormous back yard. All the features that have been added are great. We can’t believe our luck. Apex definitely deserves a lot of credit.”
Carla Monk, mum of two takes a first look at her new 3-bedroom home.
I’m over the moon! The houses are very well finished, so modern and they’re energy efficient. I’ve experience with other housing associations before and I am very impressed with Apex. I really feel they listen to their tenants, they provide a great service and the staff are so willing to help.”
Sinead and Conor Doherty, parents to baby Brogan and Ava, four, have just moved into their purpose built ‘complex needs’ home.
This is going to be great for Ava – we’ve never had an enclosed garden before, the doorways are all wide enough for her wheelchair and the lift will make our lives and hers so much easier. In our last house, Ava was mostly confined to two rooms [because of her limited mobility].
Rachael Burke, mum to one year old Lailah.
This is our first family home – I’m just so happy to actually have it. I feel like this is the start of our future. I mean waking up to that view every morning…
