Following the death of John Hume this week; Chairperson of Apex Housing Association, John Meehan, has paid tribute to the tireless work and vision of the local man.
Mr Meehan commented:
On 17th November 1965 John Hume was elected the first chairman of Derry Housing Association, now Apex Housing Association. It was with great sadness that we learned of John’s passing.
His tireless work in those early days included campaigning for adequate housing. Today many families in our city and beyond live in great homes and vibrant communities as a result of his vision at that time.
