A place to call home for 14 families in Castlerock
Fourteen local families are settling into new homes at Freehall Gardens in Castlerock following the completion of a new housing development in the seaside village.
The development features 14 high-quality homes designed to meet a range of housing needs, including apartments, family homes and bungalows, with specialist accommodation for older people and those with disabilities.

Barry Kerr, Executive Director of Development & Assets at Apex, said:
The completion of Freehall Gardens marks an important step in providing much-needed homes in rural communities. Delivering new social housing in smaller towns and villages is essential to ensuring these communities remain vibrant, sustainable and welcoming places to live.
One of the key strengths of this development is the range of different homes it has provided, including homes for people with disabilities and accommodation for older people. Having a mix of homes in one development helps ensure more people can live independently and thrive in their local community.

The £2.2 million project has been made possible through a combination of £1.2 million in Housing Association Grant funding from the Department for Communities and an almost £1 million private finance investment from Apex. The development was delivered by the Braidwater Group.
Joe McGinnis, CEO of Braidwater Group, said:
We are proud to have completed this important new development at Freehall Road in partnership with Apex Housing Association. The delivery of these 14 new homes reflects our continued commitment to building high-quality housing that responds to the needs of local communities.
“The mix of homes at Freehall Road has been designed to accommodate a range of needs, and it is particularly rewarding to see the scheme now complete and ready to provide homes for new residents. We would like to thank Apex, the North 55 project team and everyone involved in bringing the development to fruition.
