A marathon journey to help children in Tanzania

During August, one of our staff members completed a massive challenge – running four marathons in four days along the Wild Atlantic Way – in aid of Children in Crossfire.
Seamus Crossan, Manager of Belmont Cottages in Derry~Londonderry, may be a seasoned runner but says completing the Extreme North Quadrathon was not easy.
This has been my toughest running challenge to date, but the scenery and the camaraderie of all the runners was second to none. The support from the organisers, the other runners, the volunteers and the public was phenomenal. I ran each day in the company of my best mate Stephen, who helped motivate and encourage me to complete it.

Seamus’ remarkable achievement was completed to help Belmont Cottages’ staff Holly and Emmett fundraise in advance of their trip to Tanzania in August 2020 with Children in Crossfire. The money raised will be used to provide nutritious food and safe, clean water within schools, and will also go towards the construction of 13 pre-primary school classrooms.
Anyone who still wishes to support Seamus, Holly and Emmett from Belmont Cottages in their fundraising can do so via their JustGiving page below.
