Tenants from Knockena enjoying the community fun day.Knockena Community Fun Day

Apex tenants in Knockena, Derry~Londonderry, held their first community Fun Day on Friday 7th July 2017. Housing Officer Darren Gallen and our Community Involvement Coordinator worked with active tenant Clare Burke to organise the event which was a great success.
Clare and other tenants organised great activities for the young people of the development to enjoy such as balloon modelling, inflatable obstacle course, bouncy castles and a Prince and Princess of Knockena fancy dress competition.

Thankfully the weather stayed dry and the BBQ was enjoyed by all giving the residents an opportunity to join together as a community and the children an opportunity to play together.

Clare and the local residents would like to thank the local businesses who contributed to the event Nissa, Doherty Bakery, Breslin butchers and Subway. We look forward to future events in Knockena.
Tenants from Knockena were awarded some funding from Apex’s Community Involvement Fund. Any of our tenants can apply for this and we will be taking applications again in September.
Apex’s vision is for every person to enjoy great quality homes, in vibrant and caring communities. We will continue to promote community involvement by supporting and empowering tenants to make a difference in their community.
