Apex supports new befriending scheme in Rathcoole

Apex is very pleased to be supporting the new befriending scheme being delivered by ROC Care Rathcoole.

Community Consultation

Working with other statutory bodies including Belfast City Council, ROC Care carried out extensive consultation in the area and from this it was clear there was a real need for a befriending project. They applied to Apex for funding from our Community Involvement Grant scheme and we were very happy to support them in bringing their plans to fruition.

The befriending project was recently launched and already Apex tenants are involved in promoting the project with their friends and neighbours and becoming befrienders themselves. If you are a tenant in the Rathcoole area and would like to be involved please contact your housing officer

Community Information Event

To highlight our support of the project Apex organised an information morning and invited Keeva Watson – ROC Regional Development Manager for Northern Ireland – to come along. There was a great turn out of Apex tenants, locals from the wider community and ROC volunteers.

We look forward to seeing this project flourish and benefit the whole Rathcoole community.
