Shane Martin, Night Assistant
Shane Martin has been a part of the Apex team for over two years, as a Foyer Night Assistant at Strand Foyer in Derry~Londonderry. We sat down with Shane to chat about his role, what Apex is like as an employer and how he spends his free time outside of work.

Describe what your job involves.
My job involves greeting residents and their guests as they come and go from the Strand Foyer. I also keep the residents and the building safe at night.
What do you like most about your job?
The people I work with, meeting so many new people and the shifts are great too.

Fair. Proactive. Farsighted.
What advice would you give someone starting out in your career area?
The job is very rewarding. You get to meet so many young people from all over. You can be a positive role model and get to learn so much from them too.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to spend time with the kids, go walking, and go to the gym.
What did you want to be when growing up?
A firefighter.
What is the first concert you attended?
David Gray.
What is your favourite film?
Highlander (1986).
Favourite motto or personal mantra?
Failure is success if you learn from it.
