
Railway Court, supported living – learning disability
Railway Court: situated on the Dromore Road, between O’Kane Park and Culmore Park offers accommodation, support and care for 23 adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities over 18 years of age. It is owned and managed by Apex Housing Association.
Individual Facilities: The accommodation consists of six three and four bed bungalows with shared living, dining, kitchen and bathroom facilities set in its own secure grounds with landscaped gardens and patio areas within easy reach of all local amenities and walking distance of the main shopping area.
Support and Care: Railway Court provides a safe environment with staff available 24 hours per day supporting tenants to develop skills, take control of their life and get involved in day-to-day decision making. Tenants are involved in the planning of their own support and care service and encouraged to achieve personal goals to become more independent, try new things like education or training, get involved in the local community and take part in activities.
Activities can include:
- Movie nights;
- Beauty Therapy;
- Sensory Equipment;
- Computers.
Apex staff work in partnership with Supporting People and the Local Health Trust to ensure we meet the individual support and care needs of each tenant.
How to apply for this accommodation
The Housing Executive is responsible for carrying out all assessments to ensure that you are eligible for accommodation in Railway Court.
Applicants should complete a Housing/Transfer Application form with their Keyworker/Social Worker and send it to the Housing Executive.
