Situation: Killowen House is purpose built to accommodate 43 Housing with Care tenants and is centrally located within Coleraine, between Killowen Street and Strand Road and enjoys pleasant views of the River Bann. The town centre is within easy walking distance and can be accessed by a pedestrian footbridge. The scheme is located in a well established community area and has good community support. There are four local Doctors surgeries and we have a chemist pick up and delivery service.
Individual Facilities: All tenants have their own tastefully decorated private room with en-suite facilities. Tenants are encouraged to personalise their rooms and bring special items of furniture, for example, ornaments and pictures to enhance the warm, friendly and homely atmosphere. Communal areas include lounge with T.V., quiet room, hairdressing salon, dining room, family rooms with kitchen facilities and a guest room for visiting family. The surrounding grounds are landscaped with seating facilities.
Support & Care: The care and support needs of all tenants are assessed by their allocated key worker upon admission to the scheme. Individual care and support plans are compiled for each tenant and reviewed on a six monthly basis or sooner if needed. Where appropriate, after consultation with relevant persons, a referral may be made to the Trust for an additional care package to help maintain the tenant in the scheme.
