
Portrush is a small, seaside resort town in Co. Antrim. In the off-season, it is a dormitory town for the nearby campus of the University of Ulster at Coleraine. It neighbours the resort of Portstewart. The town is well known for the Royal Portrush Golf Club, the only golf club outside the mainland Great Britain which has hosted an Open Championship.

It is a busy seaside resort, with a frequent train service run by NI Railways connecting with Ulsterbus services.
Attractions in town include: Coastal Zone, Waterworld swimming complex, Royal Portrush Golf Club and Barry’s Amusements. There are also two long sandy beaches, known as the West and East Strand.
‘Portrush parkrun’ is a free, weekly, 5k run along the East Strand beach to the White Rocks and back.
