Ardavon, supported living – learning disability

Ardavon: situated in its own private grounds on the Derry – Londonderry’s Waterside, Ardavon offers accommodation, support and care for 12 adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities over 18 years of age. It is owned and managed by Apex Housing Association.

Individual Facilities: The accommodation consists of two six bed en-suite bungalows with shared living, dining and kitchen facilities set in its own secure grounds with landscaped gardens and patio areas, it is within easy reach of all local amenities and walking distance of the city centre and main shopping area.

Support and Care: Ardavon provides a safe environment with staff available 24 hours per day supporting tenants to develop skills, take control of their life and get involved in day-to-day decision making. Tenants are involved in the planning of their own support and care service and encouraged to achieve personal goals to become more independent, try new things like education or training, get involved in the local community and take part in activities.

Activities can include:

  • Cooking Projects;
  • Music and Movement;
  • Arts and Crafts;
  • Trips and Outings;

Apex staff work in partnership with Supporting People and the Local Health Trust to ensure we meet the individual support and care needs of each tenant.

How to apply for this accommodation

The Housing Executive is responsible for carrying out all assessments to ensure that you are eligible for accommodation in Ardavon.

Applicants should complete a Housing/Transfer Application form with their Keyworker/Social Worker and send it to the Housing Executive.
