Situation: Abbey House: situated in the Little Diamond area of Derry, beside St. Eugene’s Cathedral, offers sheltered accommodation for independent living for tenants over 60 years of age. The scheme caters for both Sheltered and Housing with Care tenants. It is owned and managed by Apex Housing Association.
Individual Facilities: The Sheltered scheme consists of 18 self-contained one & two bedroom flats with a secure door entry system and an emergency call system in each room of the flats. Set in landscaped grounds with seating facilities the scheme is within easy reach of all local amenities and walking distance of the main shopping area.
Support: Support needs are assessed through the support planning process when an individual moves into Abbey House in order to ensure the individual’s needs can be met. Support needs are discussed and agreed with the tenant to promote choice and independence on an ongoing basis.
Staff are available on Scheme Monday to Friday for 15 hours per week, with staff providing cover in case of an emergency outside of these times.
